Bondholder Freeths LLP has been named as the most active mergers and acquisitions advisor nationally, which includes a £5.5million takeover deal carried out in its Derby office.
The analysis by Experian for July 2016 showed Freeths as joint first with in terms of the number of deals completed, eight, but the firm eclipsed the competition with a total deal value of £33million, compared to runner-up Irwin Mitchell's £15million.
Mike Copestake, Partner at Freeths LLP, commented: "We're delighted to see that the Experian ranking has recognised the important role that the Freeths team has played in supporting business growth."
The July report showed a UK total of 495 transactions, which, although a decline since June, harboured an increase in value — £37billion, up from June's £18billion. This was due, almost entirely, to Japanese investment firm Softbank's £24.3billion acquisition of chip maker ARM Holdings.
