A new PR team has joined the Derby business community and comes in the form of Bondholder Purpose Media's new PR division.
The specialist PR division was set up in response to an increased demand from Purpose Media's clients. This marks the final step in the firm's transition to becoming a full-service digital agency.
The new division comprises Jon Smart, who joins Purpose Media as PR and marketing director, and marketing manager Jonny Stringer. Jon becomes the firm's tenth new recruit of the year and its 31st employee. The agency has doubled its staff in the past nine months.
Matt Wheatcroft, Managing Director of Purpose Media, said: "We've seen an increase in demand from clients for additional PR, content and marketing support and we're delighted that Jon has joined us to develop and deliver this new service."
"Over the past six years, Purpose Media has grown from being a website developer into a full-service digital agency and Jon's appointment completes the menu of core services we can now offer to existing and potential clients."
Following Jon's appointment, marketing consultant Bev Cook will be moving into a non-executive position. Bev has worked with Purpose Media for five years and has played an important part in the growth and development of the business by offering PR and marketing advice and support.
Purpose Media is also teaming up with Google to deliver an event aimed at helping local businesses to boost their online sales.
The event, which takes place at Derbyshire County Cricket Club, between 9am and 11.30am on 14 September, aims to give local companies a better understanding of why having a digital marketing strategy is key and how to keep up with the latest search engine optimisation trends. It will also offer tips to attendees on the best ways of measuring how effective their websites are.
