DCCC aims to bowl over delegates

A VIP delegation, including senior representatives from the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), visited Bondholder Derbyshire County Cricket Club for their first host city pre-tournament visit to The 3aaa County Ground ahead of the 2017 Women's Cricket World Cup.

An introduction to the City and County was made by Simon Storey, chief executive of DCCC, who expressed the Club's pride at being chosen as one of just five venues for the tournament and the exciting developments projects at the ground.

This was then followed by a short presentation by Marketing Derby managing director, John Forkin, who gave a brief insight into the UK Capital for Innovation and, in particular, the desire and support of the business community to ensure the success of this opportunity to host a major sporting event.

The delegation then split into groups to tour the facilities at the ground, including the new media centre and planned additional seating - both to be completed this summer.
