Following the finals of The National Pub & Bar Awards in London this week, Bondholder Derby Brewing Co's pub, The Tap, has been named as East Midlands Pub & Bar of the Year, one of 12 regional winners, having narrowly missed out on the award for National Pub of the Year.
Speaking after the awards Director Paris Harris commented “It’s a great honour to win the regional award for East Midlands Pub & Bar of the Year. We were up against 4 other pubs in the East Midlands category and competition was strong. The Tap, one of four Derby Brewing Co venues, the first venue we opened back in 2008 and since then it’s gone from strength to strength so it’s great to have this recognised."
Trevor Harris, Director, commented “It was a special night; to be awarded amongst the best in the country is a great moment. We will certainly be celebrating and hope the rest of Derby will join us, cheers!”
The Tap offers an extensive range of beers, with at least 5 of Derby Brewing Co ales and guest ales. Not to mention over 75 beers from around the world. You’ll also find a fantastic spirit selection, specialising in gin, rum & whisky, there is something for everyone including the legendary racks and tasting boards.
Bar manager John Moore said about the awards "The award was a huge shock. The team all work very hard so it's nice to be recognised especially on this scale. Our eyes are now set on being named as the National Winner in next year’s awards. ”
The Awards, organised by Pub & Bar Magazine, saw 94 County Winners entered into and invited to the grand final, which took place at London’s iconic BAFTA theatre on Tuesday 24 May 2016. On the evening, 12 regional winners and one overall National Pub & Bar of the Year were announced.
