Following last year's incredible Bondholder Derby Book Festival event with John McAvoy, this year we have the privilege of welcoming Sir John Timpson CBE, whose book Upside Down Management
will be brought to life at this breakfast event not to be missed.
Sir John Timpson CBE is the chairman and owner of Timpson, which has over 2000 UK outlets specialising in shoe repairs, key cutting and engraving, as well as dry cleaning and photo processing.
John Timpson's philosophy is "If you treat people well, it is blindingly obvious that they will do a good job."
The business has won countless awards, and has been in the top 10 of The Sunday Times '100 best companies to work for' every time it has entered. The company has a policy of employing ex-prisoners and runs pre-release training in several prisons.
John and his wife Alex had three children, adopted two more and fostered another 90 and he was knighted in the 2017 Birthday Honours for services to business and fostering.
Copies of John's book will be available to purchase at the event (Cash transactions only).
There is availability for 150 Bondholders, therefore this event will be restricted to two complimentary tickets per Bondholder company. However, additional tickets can be purchased at £8.00 each online at the Festival website, or in person from the Festival Box Office at QUAD. All proceeds will go directly to Derby Book Festival to ensure it can return again next year.
