Triple Top for Derby Telegraph

Bondholder Derby Telegraph has scooped three top awards at the Regional Press Awards.

As well as walking away with the highly coveted Newspaper of the Year award, the Derby Telegraph also saw reporter Robin Johnson awarded the Business and Finance Journalist of the Year prize, while Scoop of the Year was awarded to Isaac Crowson for his reporting of abuse at Aston Hall care home.

Isaac was also highly commended in the Daily Reporter of the Year category.

When collecting the award for Newspaper of the Year, Steve Hall, Editor of Derby Telegraph, said: "I'd just like to thank the team in Derby who every day give lie to the claim that journalists these days are only interested in click-bait."

The judges agreed that the Derby Telegraph is an example to the industry "of how to tackle difficult issues in a campaigning style" with investigative journalism at its finest, told with rigour and confidence".
