intu Exchanges Contracts on Eagle Market

Bondholder intu Derby has exchanged contracts with fellow Bondholder Derby City Council for the Eagle Market.

Over the course of an ambitious three year plan intu aims to revitalise the much loved market and restore it to its rightful place as one of the UK’s most successful indoor markets. The three year plan will maintain the heart and character of Derby’s celebrated market whilst improving on the traditional features customers have come to love about the local space.

Once the transaction completes, the management team at intu Derby will work alongside market management company, WMC to lead this new chapter.

WMC brings a wealth of experience and expertise from its work operating a number of markets around the country, including London's Spitalfields, Watford and Luton, and through working together, intu and WMC will revitalise Eagle Market for the people of Derby to enjoy and spend time in.

Adam Tamsett, General Manager at intu Derby, said, “We’re looking forward to injecting new life into the market, creating a place for people to shop, eat and relax in whilst supporting existing traders and attracting new ones."
