Chamber urges government to not delay Hinkley Point C decision

Bondholder East Midlands Chamber is calling on the Government not to take too long deciding the future of Hinkley Point C nuclear power station.

What we don’t want to see is this decision drag on the way to decision over UK airport expansion has dragged on or the lack of final decision over the HS2 Eastern Leg Midlands station hub location.
— Scott Knowles, Chief Executive of East Midlands Chamber

China's ambassador to London, Liu Xiaoming, said that Britain's relationship with China had reached a "crucial historical juncture".

Scott Knowles, Chief Executive of East Midlands Chamber, said: "For the sake of British firms waiting for the green light, we would agree with the ambassador that there is a lot to be gained from not taking too long to decide about the future of this project."

He continued: "What we don't want to see is this decision drag on the way to decision over UK airport expansion has dragged on or the lack of final decision over the HS2 Eastern Leg Midlands station hub location."
