Neale Lewis - of Bondholder Neale Lewis Associates - has launched the East Midlands Scale Up programme which aims to help a select number of local businesses in the region fulfil their potential.

Launched with the founder of Global High Growth, Stuart Ross, the two have both grown up and built their careers in the region and are passionate about making sure companies in the East Midlands are able to compete both nationally and internationally.

Neale commented: "There's a huge potential for businesses in the East Midlands that unfortunately isn't being nurtured. The closure of the Business Growth Service was a real blow and the failure for anyone to step up and fill that void has presented an opportunity. The Business Growth Service, which created 83,000 jobs and added £3.5bn nationally, was shut down last year as a result of Government cuts."

Neale believes Derby is a great place to start a business due to its supportive local government policies, industry structure, geographic placement and talent supply, creating an unrivalled competitive advantage.

Neale added: "We want to be a key part of the support structure to help fuel this growth and importantly see the creation of new jobs in these high growth organisations."

The launched of the East Midlands Scale Up is initially open to just 50 businesses with the potential to quickly reach the next level of growth. A selection process to identify the strongest companies who will progress to a 'Scale Up Accelerator' scheme will then take place. The scale up programme includes six full-day workshops and two half-day coaching sessions focusing on strategy and leadership development.

Businesses enrolling into the Scale Up programme will receive leading advice and dedicated time from accredited coaches, access to online business strategy tools, workshops and events with local, national and international business figures.
