Intu leisure expansion

Work has started on a 42,600 sq ft leisure destination in intu Derby.

The shopping mall was granted planning permission by Derby City Council, earlier this year, to build the new attractions on one level of the multi-storey car park close to existing restaurants and Showcase Cinema De Lux development.

Dan Murphy, general manager of intu Derby said: “We’re really excited to be undertaking such an ingenious project where we’re converting a deck of the multi-storey car park into further leisure facilities.

"The space will be occupied by Hollywood Bowl, the UK’s leading ten-pin bowling business and Paradise Golf, the leading provider of indoor adventure golf attractions.

"Our aim for the centre is to draw in more people from further afield and encourage people to stay longer and we believe these new additions will perfectly complement Showcase Cinema De Lux and all our great stores and restaurants to give even more reasons for people to visit Intu Derby.

"We are expecting the new leisure facilities to be open in early 2017”.

The announcement continues the momentum of new leisure facilities opening in Derby city centre with trampoline park, Bounce Revolution, opening and with a planning application for an escape room concept currently being considered.
