Rolls-Royce soars with orders of £3bn

Bondholder Rolls-Royce has won two orders totalling $3bn - a $2.7bn order from Norwegian for Trent 1000 engines and TotalCare© long-term service support for 19 new Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft and an order worth $300m to provide ANA Group with Trent 900 engines for use in three new A380 aircraft.

This decision further develops our relationship with Rolls-Royce and we look forward to operating aircraft powered by the latest version of the Trent 1000
— Bjorn Kjos, CEO at Norwegian

The Norwegian deal also includes TotalCare© for Trent 1000 engines that will power 11 previously-announced leased Boeing 787s yet to enter service.

Bjorn Kjos, CEO at Norwegian, said: "This decision further develops our relationship with Rolls-Royce and we look forward to operating aircraft powered by the latest version of the Trent 1000, which sets new standards of performance.

Rolls-Royce's deal with ANA Group reinforces the Trent 900's position as the engine of choice on the A380 as it has been selected by the majority of A380 customers.

Dominic Horwood, Director, Customers & Services - Civil Aerospace at Rolls-Royce said: "ANA Group is an extremely respected and valued customer and we are honoured that they have chosen us again to power their new airplane."
