University Launch Internship Programme

Bondholder the University of Derby has launched its 2017 internship programme.

Originally started in 2013, the scheme is managed by the Employer Engagement team and part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund, looks to support SMEs in the D2N2 area to access the university's student and graduate talent.

To date the programme has placed over 200 interns in roles ranging from film production to community engagement.

Not only is the scheme beneficial to students looking to gain valuable work experience, but many employers also use the internship programme as a pipeline for future recruitment. Many previous interns have gone on to secure longer-term employment where they have completed their internship.

Bondholder law-firm Flint Bishop found the service invaluable: "The team were fantastic and guided me through the entire process. They were on hand to answer any questions, and sent through excellent candidates for interview. It was a struggle to make a choice between the three that I had seen.

"The University's support and service was excellent. The process for me was quick and easy and I would have no hesitation in recommending other businesses looking for support to contact the dedicated team.”
