Bondholders Launch Breakfast Club

Thanks to a new initiative by Bondholders Derby City Council and Derby County Football Club, pupils across six schools in Derby now have access to regular breakfast clubs.

Derby City Council, working together with Derby's private sector, has launched a new scheme, ensuring all pupils receive school breakfasts during the academic year.

The initiative was launched at the iPro Stadium, with Bondholder Derby County Community Trust and Derby County Football Club

The scheme follows two years of persistent work by Councillor Sarah Russell, Cabinet member for education and skills, together with local entrepreneur Kavita Oberoi.

Sarah said: "I am passionate about the future of our children in Derby.  Enabling them to receive the best education possible is a key priority for myself as Cabinet Member and for this administration.

"I encourage as many businesses as possible in the city to get involved, and support this initiative in our schools.  We can all afford to donate, no matter how small the sum, to ensure this continues beyond its first year."
