Toyota to Train Next Generation of Engineers

Bondholder Toyota Manufacturing UK has launched a new skills centre at its Derbyshire headquarters.

The Academy will provide skills training, from all aspects of its business, to staff from across the country, and will train apprentices as well as staff in manufacturing, sales, after sales and marketing and from its wider network of component supplier businesses.

The Academy features a replica production line, two vehicle showrooms, nine workshops and sixteen training rooms.

Attendees of the Academy can gain qualifications through courses in the Toyota 21 programme, including Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) accredited courses.

Tony Walker, Deputy Managing Director, said: "The new Academy will support our efforts to train apprentices and maintenance engineers to achieve nationally recognised qualification."

Not only do we train apprentices for Toyota, but also for supply chain companies and local engineering companies, operating as a centre of excellence.
