Codemakers Secures DEGF Funding

Digital Consultancy and Marketing Derby Bondholder Codemakers is set for expansion after securing Derby Economic Growth Fund (DEGF) investment from Derby City Council.

The funding package from the DEGF will help create 3 new jobs and will allow the team at Codemakers to invest in its own web-based products.

Codemakers has been in business since 2008 developing bespoke products for mobile and web, but more recently the concept of 'Shipmate' was born when the directors wondered what it might be like to integrate with all the UK’s popular couriers, bringing them together under one user-friendly platform that links into e-commerce platforms used by online retailers.

With a funding package of over £46,000 from DEGF the Shipmate platform is currently under development and will be exhibited at carefully selected trade shows and exhibitions over the coming year.  The prospects for Shipmate are vast and Codemakers already have customers lined up waiting for the platform to launch, with more enquiring every week.

“DEGF is aimed at businesses just like ours – established with a sound foundation and a great business idea that can create and sustain jobs, but not big enough to have the banks champing at the bit to lend money”

Codemakers is a team of entrepreneurially-spirited designers, developers and technical consultants that create high-performance web and mobile-based applications, using the latest technologies and industry standards.
