Nelsons Snaps Up Derby Rival

Employing 48 people in Derby including ten partners and 28 fee earners, Bondholder Nelsons Solicitors has announced it has bought Derby-based rival Moody and Woolley.

Moody and Woolley was established in Derby in 1846 offering legal advice across a wide range of sectors – the firm of 32 employees is headed by Julie Marson and equity partner Ian Griffiths, who will retire from the business but remain as consultants during the transition. Marson will stay at Nelsons for an additional six months.

The Moody and Woolley team will initially remain in its St Mary's Gate offices under the Nelsons name.
