Submitted by MP Pauline Latham, a bid to have the Weeping Window section of the installation erected at Derby Silk Mill is in progress with many companies supporting the bid.

Pauline said: “I spoke to many of the key organisations in the city, including Rolls-Royce, the Royal British Legion, Derby City Council, Derby QUAD, Marketing Derby, Derby Cathedral and the Derby Telegraph, who all expressed a desire to be involved.”

She continues: “A presentation was given to the people making the decision and we also showed them the site, explaining how we would create an education programme for local schools and a poppy trail for visitors around the city's war memorials.”

Competition includes Stoke and a decision will be made in March. Fingers crossed!
