Derby swimmer and world record-holder of the 50m and 100m breaststroke, Adam Peaty, is doing Derby proud as he - for the second year in a row - has been named as one of twelve contenders for the BBC Sports Personality of the Year.
The nomination comes after another successful year where he claimed three golds at the World Championships in Russia. Adam also took the local Derby Telegraph Sportsman of the Year award.
As one of Britain's major hopes for next year's Olympic Games, Adam joins other contenders for the award including Jessica Ennis-Hill, Mo Farah, Greg Rutherford, Andy Murray, Lewis Hamilton, Lucy Bronze, Tyson Fury, Chris Froome, Lizzie Armitstead, Max Whitlock and Kevin Sinfield.
The winner will be decided by a public vote on the night of Sunday 20th December.
