Lunar21

Lunar 21 is a derby-based re-incarnation of the spirit of the Lunar Society who were a group of 18 ^th century Midlands' business men who met to share ideas. Held bi-annually, it is open to members of of the public who share curiosity, inquisitiveness and creativity who want to meet, hear and ask questions that shed light on derby's place in the 21 ^st Century.

Recent themes have included:

• What links change in our pockets with change in Derby
  Speakers:
  Professor B Smith, a former Bank of England official and City of London Economist
  Michael Prest, a contributing Editor to breakingviews.com and prestigious writer - including the FT.
• Identity - Personal and Civic
  Speakers:
  Johnathan Wallis, Assistant Head of Museums for Derby Museums and Art Gallery
  Professor Chris Ward, Professor in Rehabilitation Medicine.

The next Lunar21 debate will take place at Derby College's Roundhouse campus on Pride Park on Monday 30 ^th November 2009.
