Bondholders start revolution in Derby
article image

A group of Marketing Derby Bondholders based in the modern Cathedral Quarter office block, Friar Gate Studios, are launching themselves as the 21st century creative revolution.

Essential Marketing Solutions, Moggs Marketing Communications, Paskett Public Relations, Cactus Images and Revolver Revolver are joining forces to share their specialist skill base.

Sharon Stevens-Cash, Director of Essential Marketing Solutions and priniciple point of contact for the iniative said, “Because we all operate as private businesses the overheads that clients face are less than 15% of those you would expect from the well-heeled city agencies in London, Manchester or Leeds that have to fund all the skills, regardless of what the client wants”

Collectively, all the companies in the studio turn over almost £5 million and many international brands already use their talents.

Historic Business District rebrands
article image

Businesses in and around Vernon Gate in Derby's west end are working together to give the area a promotional boost.

Rebranded as "Derby's Georgian business district", the dozens of firms that operate from Vernon Gate and Vernon Street are hoping to create a recognisable image.

Part of the idea is to play a role in the wider marketing of Derby as a destination to do business and to fit with other area initiatives like the Cathedral Quarter and St Peter's Quarter.

Chartered surveyor Peter Milner, who represents Vernon Gate Management, said: "Vernon Gate provides the perfect city centre location for any business.

"It was clear we needed to promote this unique historical conservation area and generate awareness of the broad mix of businesses located here."

John Forkin, Managing Director of Marketing Derby, said: "It's fantastic that businesses are working together to develop a strong identity for this area which has always been a vibrant and attractive business district."
