Businesses in Derby’s St Peters Quarter have voted YES to establishing the area as the city’s second Business Improvement District (BID).

71% of voters supported the Business Plan that will affect more than 500 commercial premises in the area – paving the way for work to start on a five-year plan of initiatives to improve the area.

BID Chair Stephen Jeffery said: “We are obviously delighted that the businesses firstly recognise the value of establishing a BID and secondly that they have endorsed the actions for change that were outlined in the Business Plan”.

The St Peters Quarter BID area is the commercial core of the city between Westfield and the Cathedral Quarter stretching from the river in the east (including Riverlights) to Green Lane and Macklin Street in the west.

Marketing Derby Bondholder PFBB (Partnerships For Better Business) played a major role in the success of the BID Business Plan.
