Annual Business Event
Marketing Derby held their Annual Business Event last Friday at the QUAD which was attended by 200 guests.
The event showcased the city's economic achievements over the past 12 months as well as thanking Bondholders for their continued support after announcing that Marketing Derby had been involved in creating over 1,100 jobs in the city.
Presentations from Chairman Bob Betts and Managing Director John Forkin outlined the city's "rollercoaster ride" in 2011, from the Thameslink decision going against Bombardier in the summer, to the 700-job inward investment by HEROtsc at Christmas.
John Forkin also described how all three websites improved in visitor numbers during 2011 with the Marketing Derby site gaining 77% growth compared to 2010. Visit Derby (41%) and Invest in Derby (51%) also achieved significant growth.
Marketing Derby also hit a record 550,000 publications distributed over the year. The circulation of the Business Guide to Derby in 400,000 Financial Times newspapers throughout the world, played a major role in getting the city on the map.
